Who should take these classes?

The Beginner Photography Class is designed for the beginner, amateur, or hobbyist photographer wanting to take advantage of everything their digital camera has to offer. We dump all the intimidating jargon and give you the core concepts you need to capture your digital life like a pro.

Is there an age limit?

All ages are welcome to attend, however, the majority of our students are adults. While we have had students as young as 11 years old attend without issue, it really all comes down to your child. As long as they understand that learning photography has a technical component to it, they should be fine.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, of course! Gift certificates are available for our Beginner Digital Photography Class or Personal Photography Instruction sessions. To provide the most flexibility, you are able to specify the exact amount you would like to gift.

Head over to our Gift Certificate page to learn more… and as always, please contact us at (614) 427-1671 should you have any questions.

What if I can’t commit to the 4 weekly classes?

We understand that not everyone will have all 4 consecutive class days available, and that’s why we allow you to jump in on another class to ensure you are covered. Simply let us know of your scheduling conflict and we’ll make sure you have a space.

What if I have difficulty with the material?

We’re big believers in getting what you pay for and stand firmly behind our Beginner Photography training class, which is why we have a “100% ‘UNTIL IT CLICKS’ GUARANTEE.” Learning digital photography and complicated cameras can be challenging, so anytime you feel the need for a refresher class, whether in part or in whole, you are welcome to sit in on another beginner class at NO EXTRA CHARGE!

What qualifications do I need?

No qualifications are required for our Beginner Digital Photography Class and/or Personal Instruction, except of course, a desire to learn and have fun!

What camera and/or equipment do I need?

We recommend a Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera along with a fully charged battery and memory card. Your camera should have the ability to manually adjust exposure settings such as ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. If you are unsure if your camera is suitable for the class, simply give us a call at (614) 427-1671 and we’ll let you know.

How are the classes structured?

For maximum interaction, the Beginner Photography Class is limited to 10 students and runs once a week for a total 4 weeks, with each class running 1.5 hours in length. This class has a high practical ingredient where you are encouraged to complete assignments in your own time (this is not a pass-fail class, but the more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.)

Once the 4 weekly classes are complete, there is a 2-hour instructor-led outing where you get to put your newly learned skills to practice. That make 8 hours of instruction in total!

How do I register for a class?

To register for a class, simply click on “Class Registration” in the main navigation above (or just click here) and select the class you wish to attend. You can always call us at (614) 427-1671 to register over the phone if you prefer to speak with someone.

What happens if I miss a class?

We understand that life happens. If you miss a class due to unforeseen circumstances, please contact us as quickly as possible so we can schedule a make-up class. Space is limited, however, we will do our best to fit you in.

Do you offer personal instruction?

Yes, our Personal Digital Photography Instruction is available and is made by appointment only. Please contact us to discuss available appointment times and days.

Where are the classes held?

Our Beginner Photography Class is held at our beautifully modern and safe training center located at the Metro Center Campus in Dublin, Ohio. Click here for directions in Google Maps.

What about refunds and cancellations?

In-class and personal session fees are non-refundable unless Shutterbug Photography Training cancels a particular class or training session. If you are unable to attend a class or personal session due to unforeseen circumstances, we will gladly try to accommodate you in a later class/time, space and schedule, permitting.
